Virtual Events – How to Broadcast Easily to your Audience

Digital Marketing | Nicole Keiner | Wednesday, March 2, 2022

The live event streaming industry grew a whopping 99% between April 2019 and April 2020. Although that statistic was strictly pandemic-driven, event streaming is here to stay and will only continue to grow.

Event streaming has so many benefits, from having a greater reach, building brand awareness, and the ability for future audience views to grow your website traffic. It can be one of the most cost-effective delivery platforms in your company’s communication toolbox. The question now is – how can you incorporate it into your current communications plan? Intrada can help.

Types of Event Streaming

Intrada offers three types of event streaming services: live, pre-recorded, and hybrid. All can be used successfully based on your audience, event, and budget. While anyone can create a livestream event, in order to generate a high-quality production, getting Intrada involved is the first step.

Live
Live streaming is broadcasting content live. It is streamed without being pre-recorded or stored.

During the last year, you probably have viewed a live stream video. Seminars, conferences, sporting events, church services, concerts, and weddings are a few. Some may have been better than others. A teenager filming a high school basketball game is a very different experience than one of a veteran videographer filming a press conference.

“Offering a live event stream can certainly be done successfully, but there is no room for error,” states David Steele, co-owner of Intrada. “We recommend using this type for some but not many of our clients. Our preferred methods are pre-recorded or hybrid if your budget allows.”

Pre-recorded
Pre-recorded is streaming content that has been previously stored and created.

“If you do not need any interaction and the event doesn’t have to be live, this is a great option,” says Steele. “You have total control over the content, the message, and when the time to stream comes, you select the platform and press play.”

Hybrid
Hybrid events are a combination of live and pre-recorded video.

“Hybrid events typically involved pre-event trainings, dress rehearsals, professional sound, lighting – it is a production,” adds Steele. We recommend hybrid events for multi-day conferences or half-day events.”
