Client Spotlight: Chamber of Business & Industry Centre County
History
Since 1920, The Chamber has been an advocate for our interconnected communities, a catalyst for business growth, and a convener of influential leaders. In 1992, the State College Chamber of Commerce (established in 1920) and the Centre County Industrial Development Corporation (established in 1956) merged to form a unified entity. Presently, The Chamber manages and staffs three corporate entities:
The Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County (CBICC) - a membership organization governed by a 22-member board of directors.
Centre County Industrial Development Corporation (CCIDC) - promotes economic development throughout Centre County as the legal arm of The Chamber. CCIDC works in partnership with public and private organizations under the banner of the Centre County Economic Development Partnership (CCEDP). The mission focuses on business retention, entrepreneurial development, and attracting new businesses.
Chamber Foundation of Centre County - a charitable organization (501c(3)) that promotes economic development and education initiatives. Businesses and individuals that support CBICC/CCIDC professional/workforce development initiatives through charitable contributions receive tax advantages.
