At Intrada Technologies, our team is the heart of everything we do. Every team member brings their unique story, skill set, and personality to the table. For this month's Tech Talk, we are shining a light on Nay Win, a valued Network Operations Center (NOC) team member. From his unique career trajectory to his personal interests, Nay exemplifies how varied professional paths can result in impactful contributions.
Intrada: Can you tell us a little about your professional background and what led you to our company?
Nay: I didn’t originally set out to pursue a career in IT. My initial plan was to become an Architectural Engineer, and I began my studies in that field. However, after just one semester, I realized the course flow didn’t resonate with me as much as I'd hoped. That’s when I decided to shift paths and enrolled in a Network Engineering program instead. While I'd always been interested in computer systems, it'd only ever been a personal hobby.
I was worried that switching careers would be a tough adjustment, but I ended up excelling in all my courses. I graduated college in 2021 with two degrees: a Bachelor’s in Network Engineering and an Associate’s in Technical Support. Since remote work was still in high demand at the time, I applied to positions all over the country and was even open to relocating. Because I didn't initially intend on pursuing a career in the IT field, the job market was grueling without prior IT experience, but I eventually found an opportunity at Intrada Technologies. I made a strong enough impression to land the job, and the rest is history!
Intrada: How long have you been with Intrada?
Nay: On April 4th, it'll officially be 3 years with Intrada. Because of how close I’ve become with many of my colleagues, it feels like I’ve been here much longer than I actually have! They'd tell you the same.
Intrada: What are your job responsibilities?
Nay: I’m part of the Network Operations Center (NOC) team at Intrada, where I help manage and maintain a wide array of computer networks for numerous organizations. In general, my role involves monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance to ensure everything runs smoothly and reliably.
On a regular basis, I perform system patching, backup and restore monitoring, troubleshoot both hardware and software issues, and execute scripts to support system functionality and stability.
Intrada: Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests?
Nay: While I don’t get to travel as often as I’d like, I have a deep love for exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. Just last year, a colleague and I had the amazing opportunity to spend two weeks in Japan, and it ended up being one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I’m already looking forward to going back in the near future!
Outside of work, music is a big part of my everyday life. I’m always discovering new artists and love attending concerts whenever I can. I’m also a fan of art—especially tattoos—as a unique form of personal expression. Health and fitness are important to me as well, and I’m passionate about bodybuilding. And like many others in this field, I’m an avid gamer.
Intrada: Is there a particular achievement or a professional moment you are most proud of?
Nay: The NOC role at Intrada has always been unique and constantly evolving. With only a small team in the department, we have a lot of flexibility and opportunity to find the best ways to manage our clients’ systems and networks while also improving internal processes and streamlining troubleshooting.
I’m proud to have played a major part in shaping the role into what it is today, and I’m excited to continue building on that foundation as we grow and adapt in the future.
Intrada: What is one thing that the team at Intrada may not know about you
Nay: I have a deep fascination with leatherworking and heritage workwear, particularly when it comes to boots and garments that are meticulously handcrafted. I’m drawn to pieces that tell a story—items built with tradition, purpose, and durability in mind, meant to stand the test of time.
I spend a lot of time studying the craftsmanship behind these items, from construction techniques to materials, and have a genuine appreciation for the skill and dedication that goes into making each piece.
Intrada: What is your favorite thing about Intrada?
Nay: I’m always looking for ways to grow and improve in my role, and I’ve found that nothing teaches better than real, hands-on experience. With the wide range of companies we support, we’re constantly exposed to unique challenges and situations that keep the work engaging and dynamic—It’s one of the things I enjoy most about my job.
On top of that, Intrada has a strong family-like atmosphere. It’s a supportive, comfortable environment, and I’m truly grateful to be part of a team that feels so connected and welcoming.
Intrada: High School you graduated from? Any college? Where are you originally from? Family? Pets?
Nay: I was born in Manhattan, New York, and spent most of my life in Mount Pocono, where I graduated from Pocono Mountain East High School in 2014. In 2016, my immediate family and I relocated to Williamsport so my mother could pursue her career as a Mathematics Professor at the Pennsylvania College of Technology. I later attended the same college and graduated in 2021. Currently, I have a two-year-old purebred Maltese named Ella.
Thank you for sharing your story, Nay! We are so happy to have you on our team! We’re excited to continue supporting Nay as he grows within our NOC team and look forward to seeing the innovative approaches he’ll bring to the table in the future.
