Intrada’s James Haywood Recognized with Two Prestigious Rotary Awards
Intrada congratulates Senior Project Coordinator James Haywood upon his receipt of the Williamsport Rotary’s Rotarian of the Year award and Paul Harris award.
For the past 5 years, Intrada’s James Haywood has donated his time and talents to the Williamsport Rotary Club #5331. Serving in a variety of capacities, Haywood has fundraised for a new playground at the Cochran School, ran several small fundraisers, began an E-Cycling event to recycle used electronics and an indoor golf outing.
Over the past year, James Haywood served as Rotary president, promoting the club and leading its efforts to make Williamsport and Lycoming County a better place to live.
In response to his service and dedication over the past half-decade, the Williamsport Rotary Club recognized James Haywood by bestowing the prestigious the Rotarian of the Year award.
The annual Rotarian of the Year award is awarded to one Rotarian per club who clearly stands out for his or her demonstration of “Service Above Self”—Rotary International’s motto. The Rotarian of the Year is an outstanding club member who has made “significant contributions to the mission and operation of [the] club…and who promotes Rotary by their actions and involvement.” This award is designated for active members who have: been members longer than one year, in good standing, maintained an exemplary attendance record and more.
Haywood also received Rotary International’s Paul Harris Award. This award acknowledges individuals who have contributed or had contributions made in their name of $1,000 or more to the Rotary Foundation. Established in 1957 to appreciate substantial contributions to Rotary International’s Foundation, the award is prestigious and a coveted recognition.
