The “Protectors” – Intrada’s Cybersecurity Team
In honor of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, instead of spotlighting just one team member, Intrada Technologies decided to highlight our Cyber Security Team (AKA “The Protectors”). The daily, proactive, concerted efforts put forth by the dynamic duo of Jaxson Engelman and Adam Post to keep your business’s data and information continuously safe and secure warrant a shout-out. Am I right?
How does the team help clients?

Some of the tasks done daily by the “Protectors” are reviewing network logs, conducting vulnerability scans, and carrying out some forms of incident response plans.
“Our clients must understand we aren’t reactively responding to cyber threats,” states Jaxson Engelman, Intrada’s Senior Cybersecurity Engineer. “Assuming that a network is compromised is fundamental in 0 Trust practices. In addition to layered security, this allows Intrada to protect and monitor our clients' networks.”
Because technology is regularly changing and, unfortunately, new threats always being on the horizon, one may ask how the team keeps up to date with daily threats.
“While I listen to several cybersecurity podcasts, receive Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) alerts, it can be surprising where threats are first announced,” Jaxson indicates. “We stay on top of Twitter and Reddit. Security researchers, Malware Analysts, and independent security groups often post findings and alerts on these platforms that allow bleeding edge insight into 0-day vulnerabilities and threats on the horizon.”
Adam adds, “Jaxson and I are regularly seeking new ways to help protect our clients. We are always on the lookout for new resources, as well, to see where and how threats can be detected.”
Speaking of staying on top of threats, Jaxson recently received his SC900 certification for security fundamentals and is working towards his PenTest+ certification.
“The PenTest+ includes many aspects of vulnerability management, risk management, and concepts that lead to a positive Penetration Test,” adds Jaxson. “It is learning the fundamentals of how to break into someone’s network and the legalities behind it. Intrada makes it a priority for all of our staff, not just the cybersecurity team, to get the necessary certifications and take the classes to keep us on top of what’s happening for our clients’ benefit. It is a priority.”
From a young age, Jaxson always had an investigative curiosity, which is extremely important in the CyberSecurity field. His attack and defend mindset (like many gamers have) allows a cybersecurity professional to need to investigate, research, and do their due diligence on even the most minor issues – always to go the extra mile.
“Adam has the same mindset,” adds Jaxson. “That is why we work well together as a team.”
While Jaxson leads the team of two, Adam Post, Intrada’s Senior Linux Administrator/Senior Web Developer/Senior Noc Administrator (well, that’s a mouth full), takes on a supporting role with the Cybersecurity team. Both are always working together to keep hackers away from your networks. Their top priority is keeping your data and information protected.
