Jared Patten, a Project Coordinator at Intrada Technologies, recently attended the IT Nation Connect™ conference—an event known for bringing together a mix of IT professionals and managed service providers (MSPs) from around the world. This year's annual conference in Orlando, Florida, serves as a place for inspiration, collaboration, and shared learning. For Jared, attending IT Nation Connect 2024 was more than just an opportunity to step away from his daily responsibilities; it was an invaluable chance to learn about the latest IT trends and tools, along with innovative practices immerse himself in the latest trends, tools, and innovative practices.

The conference had over 7,000 attendees, 200 breakout sessions, 60 speakers, including well-known skateboarder Tony Hawk, and five different content tracks on cybersecurity and AI, sales and marketing, service delivery and operations, management and leadership, strategy and growth. Every speaker provided attendees with unique perspectives on business growth and personal success. Attendees got a first look at product releases and updates from ConnectWise, one of the event's featured sponsors. Just an aside - ConnectWise is a word frequently mentioned in our office since it is the IT management software we rely on daily for tasks ranging from ticket creation to invoice generation.
In the exhibitor hall and vendor pavilion, Jared explored advanced solutions created to support the growing needs of MSPs and TSPs (Technology Solution Providers).
Highlights and Insights
Jared's participation in IT Nation Connect highlights Intrada Technologies' commitment to professional development and forward-thinking among its staff. David Steele, co-owner of Intrada Technologies, encouraged and well-supported his conference attendance. He emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and development as critical components of the company's philosophy.
The conference gave Jared new insights and ideas to share. He says, “The conference exceeded my expectations regarding size and scale. The venue was enormous, and I found myself getting lost a couple of times. It was a busy and fast-paced environment with multiple events happening simultaneously, often requiring me to rush from one speaker to another. However, the knowledge and insights gained were truly eye-opening. I had the opportunity to connect with individuals from large organizations, gaining valuable insights into how they operate compared to our company.”
In terms of new technologies and innovations, Jared indicates that AI was a prominent topic of discussion. “It seems to have become the new norm rather than a groundbreaking technology. There were discussions about job security and the potential impact of AI on various IT roles in the next five years. This emphasized the importance of finding new ways to leverage AI in our automation strategies to improve efficiency and eliminate any existing inefficiencies in our projects.”
Flo Rida in Florida?
Despite the busy conference schedule, Jared did have some free time to explore Orlando. Because of the conference, he was given exclusive access to various restaurants, karaoke, and an unforgettable live performance by Flo Rida.
He says, “To my surprise, I even had the opportunity to meet Flo Rida and join him on stage during his set. Additionally, I visited Universal Studios on the last night, where we enjoyed exploring the Harry Potter section and experiencing the iconic rides.”
Overall, Jared believed the conference provided valuable insights, new perspectives, and unforgettable experiences, making it an enriching and memorable event. He is already looking forward to next year's conference.
