In October, Intrada released an article Supply Chain Crisis Averted. The article was related to the railroad strike that was prevented due to President Biden’s tentative deal in September. Our recommendation was to order equipment in case this deal was not approved.
UPDATE: On October 26, 2022, Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) President Michael Baldwin announced that the union’s members voted against ratification of the National Tentative Agreement reached on September 15. The BRS represents more than 6,000 members affected by the negotiations.
The Results of the vote:
This represents 23,000 track maintenance workers who voted to reject a similar tentative labor deal, setting the stage for a possible strike as soon as November 19th.
Intrada recommends that any equipment or supplies be ordered before November 19th. If the railroad union goes on strike, there will be considerable disruptions to an already suffering supply chain.
If you need any equipment quoted, don't hesitate to get in touch with Intrada sales at 570.321.7370 or by reaching out to James Haywood.
