Howard enjoys people and thrives in a collaborative environment, all the while knowing that leadership must lead, decisions must be made and accountability expected. Success as a Vice President/General Manager and later as a Sr. VP for Sustainability, Acquisitions & New Ventures at a multinational corporation has equipped him to design and implement initiatives that enhance profitability, to read and understand a market’s direction and trends, and to communicate to diverse stakeholders. A collaborative approach has led Howard to give continuing education presentations at national and international conferences, to be invited to participate in United Nations Environmental Programs (Geneva, Belgrade, Nairobi, and Boston), and to give several expert testimonies in the US Senate and House of Representatives. Over the years, he has had the pleasure of sharing his thoughts, insights and expertise as the author of (or interviewee for) articles in several publications such as The Hill, Huffington Post, and Forbes, as well as a Report Contributor to the publication Childhood Cancer, Cross-Sector Strategies for Prevention, by the Childhood Cancer Prevention Initiative. Of special note, he is most pleased with his role in the documentary, The Human Experiment, and his work in the extending the awareness of the opportunities to substitute-out hazardous chemicals in architectural building products. When Howard isn’t strategizing and collaborating, you’ll find him and his wife, Christine, enjoying a blessed life with their children and grandchildren, volunteering at their church, or hiking around national parks. |
